The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Monday announced 16,143 new positive coronavirus test results and 124 new COVID-related deaths over the past three days.
State officials also checked old death certificates and matched them to previous positive COVID test results. They added 36 more deaths to the statewide total.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there were three new deaths reported on Monday: one each in Delta, Dickinson, and Gogebic Counties.
The U.P. added 268 new cases, with 61 in Marquette County, 44 in Houghton County, and 38 in Delta County.
There are 4,518 adults and 48 kids hospitalized with COVID around Michigan, with 1,019 in Intensive Care Units and 638 on breathing ventilators.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there are 76 people hospitalized with COVID-19, with 25 in ICU’s and five on ventilators.
