Three people were hurt in a traffic crash on the Mackinac Bridge on Friday, which had the bridge closed for about an hour.
Mackinaw City Police say the accident happened at just before 11 in the morning when a car driven by Scott Bartholomew of downstate Fenton crossed the median and was hit a car that was heading south, driven by another downstate man, Jeffery McCague of Brighton.
Police say that Bartholomew’s car was leaning on top of the side bridge railing when officers arrived. Both drivers, and one passenger, were treated for non-life threatening injuries. That accident is still under investigation.
Mackinaw City Police were assisted at the scene by the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Department, St. Ignace Police Department, Mackinaw City and St. Ignace Fire Departments, Emmet and Straits Area EMS, and the Mackinac Bridge Authority.
