The Bay de Noc Community College Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Wendy Bovard Middaugh on March 17 to fill the vacancy created by Jeremy Nastoff’s resignation.
Board Vice Chair Joy Hopkins stated, “The Board was delighted by the four quality candidates who applied for the vacancy. Dr. Middaugh was ultimately selected because she will enhance the board composition through her diversity of life experiences and work. Her current residency, occupation, and affiliations will bring new perspectives to the Board and the College.”
Dr. Wendy, as she has been called around the world, is the Director of Victim Services for the Hannahville Indian Community and the co-owner of the Northern Sun Winery in Bark River, MI. She brings cross-cultural skills through her experience strengthening communities in crisis in Africa, Haiti, the Middle East, Asia, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Dr. Wendy stated, “It is an honor to be given the opportunity to serve Bay College and support excellent education that is accessible to all. I have spent many years giving ‘voice to the voiceless’ and promoting education around the globe; so, it is very exciting to be able to contribute right here at home. As a lifetime learner, I will enjoy working with Dr. Coleman and the Board to create an environment of Student Success, Community Success and Culture of Success. I will see that, ‘Bay College is the regional college of choice where people thrive, workforces excel, communities connect, and lives transform.”
Dr. Wendy will begin her duties immediately.
