Traffic is flowing again on Escanaba’s busy North Lincoln Road as authorities investigate a natural gas leak near the Admiral gas station.
The road was closed at about 8:30 Tuesday night because of the leak. Escanaba Public Safety says a crew working in the area severed the gas line. There were also some temporary business closures as officers directed traffic away from the front of the gas station, as well as the neighboring Holiday gas station.
DTE Energy says it was a “third party construction crew” that damaged the line, and their crews were able to make repairs. No injuries were reported, and the one nearby home that lost natural gas service has it again.
