The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $2.3 million to resurface 6.8 miles of M-183 from south of US-2 to Fayette Avenue in the village of Garden, Delta County.
Work includes asphalt milling, resurfacing and shoulder widening; crack filling; surface sealing; concrete sidewalk ramps; shoulder gravel; guardrail; and pavement markings. This project includes a three-year materials and workmanship pavement warranty and a three-year pavement performance warranty. Motorists should expect intermittent single-lane closures utilizing traffic regulators.
This work will extend the lifespan of the pavement and will result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety for motorists. The wider paved shoulders will also increase safety for bicyclists and pedestrians.
