Each year, the office of Rep. Jack Bergman hosts the Congressional App Challenge.
This is an annual coding competition designed to encourage student participation in computer science and coding and an opportunity for students to compete against their peers by creating an application (app).
The competition winners are chosen by a panel of expert judges and will be featured on CongressionalAppChallenge.us. The Congressional App Challenge is open to all middle and high school students in Michigan’s First District. To learn more contact Lauren.Pauly@mail.house.gov or click here.
The winners of the 2022 CAC for Michigan’s First District were 1st Place – Cedric Kanner of Traverse City, MI, 2nd Place – Niels Walker-Hundley and Walter Lijewski-Lee of Traverse City, MI, and 3rd Place Simon Kemper of Eben Junction, MI.
Congressional App Challenge winners’ apps are displayed on the Congressional App Challenge page and are also eligible to be featured in the Capitol building – a lasting reminder of the importance of inspiring students to apply their skills for the good of their community and to help technologically advance our society as a whole.
