The Luce-Alger-Mackinac-Schoolcraft Health Department teamed up with the CEO’s of the district’s four hospitals on a letter to the community about COVID-19.
In the letter, they note that the spike in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations can be traced to COVID fatigue, politicial divisions, conspiracy theories, and a “growing lack of compassion for each other”.
They also predicted that “without broad coperation and basic considerations for others, things will get much worse”.
The goal of the letter is to get people to wear masks and to avoid gatherings as the holiday approach.
