Bay College West Campus, in collaboration with the John Fornetti Dental Center, is offering a Dental Assistant Training Program from August 26 to November 6, 2021. This 9-week, 85-hour, program consists of lectures on Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. CT at the Bay College West Campus, and clinicals every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) CT at the John Fornetti Dental Center. The cost is $2,500.00 per person and individuals must register by Thursday, August 12, 2021.
Upon completion, participants will receive a Michigan Dental Assistant Radiography Certificate, CPR/ First Aid/ AED certification, and a Certificate of Completion in Dental Assisting. This program is taught in a practicing dental office by active dental professionals. Meghan Olson, a Registered Dental Hygienist, and Paula Wender, a Registered Dental Assistant, of the John Fornetti Dental Center, will lead this program.
Students will be coached on all aspects of General Dental assisting, including dental specialties, and a variety of duties that are essential for a career in Dental Assisting. Students will receive hands on training in all equipment and instrumentation with the most current methods. They will also receive job interview coaching and upon request, a recommendation letter describing their training and experience.
