Concerns over the coronavirus “delta” variant continue to rise across the country, with some states reporting thousands of new cases every day.
That’s not yet the case here in Michigan, where the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services said on Tuesday that we’ve averaged 650 new cases over the past four days. There were 26 new deaths reported Tuesday, with ten of those coming from a review of older death certificates.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there were a total of 29 new confirmed cases over the past four days…for an average of seven cases per day.
Delta County had the most new cases in that time with nine and Marquette County had six cases. Eight of the U.P.’s 15 counties had no new cases at all over the past four days. One new death was reported Tuesday in Marquette County.
