Michigan State Police in Gladstone are asking people to remove from social media a video of young men kicking a young eagle.
Troopers say the people involved have been identified and they are investigating the weekend incident.
The video was shared by the Delta Animal Shelter on its Instagram page Saturday in an effort to identify the people involved. Dozens of people named the teens, and there have been many comments made against the them. The video appeared to be taken from one of the teen’s private “Snapchat stories”.
The video has since been removed from the animal shelter’s Instagram page.
Troopers add that continuing to share the video will hurt the investigation…and they will also investigate threatening comments against the individuals.
MICHIGAN STATE POLICE STATEMENT:
“We are asking for anyone who has shared this video to remove it from their social media. The continued sharing of this video will hinder the investigation into the incident. We are also asking to let law enforcement complete their investigation before making comments on the social media platforms. If you do not have all of the facts, please refrain from making comments. These actions/comments can also hinder the investigation, and will be reviewed and investigated if threatening.”
