The number of coronavirus cases continue to rise across Michigan and parts of the Upper Peninsula. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Monday announced 3,920 new positive test results for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. That’s an average of 1,273 new cases per day.
There were five new deaths reported over the past three days in Michigan. State officials also went through old death certificates and matched them to previous positive tests. They added five more deaths to the statewide total.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there were 98 new cases reported, for an average of 32 per day.
Delta County, by far, had the most, with 31 new cases over the three-day period. Menominee County added eleven cases and there were ten new cases in Houghton County. Marquette County added six cases and there were five in Dickinson County. No new COVID deaths were reported in the U.P. over the weekend.
