The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday announced 4,326 new positive test results for the past two days. That’s an average of 2,163 new cases per day.
There were 28 new deaths reported over the past two days in Michigan. State officials also went through old death certificates and matched them to previous positive tests. They added ten more deaths to the statewide total.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there was a large increase in cases reported on Wednesday, with 132 new positive tests in the past two days. That’s an average of 66 new cases per day.
The most new cases were in Delta and Menominee Counties, with 18 in each county. Houghton County added 14 new positive tests and Marquette County had 13 new cases. Alger, Iron, and Schoolcraft Counties all had ten new cases.
One new death was reported in the U.P. That was in Houghton County.
