The Marquette County health department on Monday issued a mask order for K-6 schools because of rising COVID-19 cases.
The order takes effect on Thursday, and will remain in effect indefinitely. It is similar to a mask order that was issued in Dickinson and Iron Counties.
The Marquette County order covers all pre-K through sixth grade students, as well as any adult that provides services to students, such as teachers. This order is for all, even those who are fully-vaccinated. It is in effect in buildings, vehicles, and enclosed structures on school grounds.
The health department says that 30-percent of all cases this month have been in people 18 years old and younger. More details below.
