The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Monday announced 7,185 new positive coronavirus test results and 26 new COVID-related deaths over the three-day period of Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
That’s an average of 2,395 new cases per day.
State officials also went through old death certificates and matched them to previous positive tests. They added nine deaths to the statewide total.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there were 270 new cases reported over the three days, for an average of 90 new positive tests per day. The most were in Marquette County with 58 cases. Delta County added 49, Dickinson County had 45 new cases, and Menominee County had 30.
New deaths were reported Monday in both Delta and Menominee Counties.
