A Charlevoix County woman couldn’t help but cry after winning $500,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Wild Time Supreme instant game.
The 73-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought her winning ticket at the Family Fare, located at 430 North Lake Street in Boyne City.
“I like to play the Wild Time games, so I purchased a few Wild Time Supreme tickets while I was at the store,” said the player. “When I saw I’d won $500,000, I didn’t think it was real. I just kept scratching the amount thinking I was missing something.
“I took the ticket up to the retailer to have them check it. When they confirmed the amount, I just stood there and cried.”
The lucky player visited Lottery headquarters to claim her big prize. With her winnings, she plans to make some home renovations and go on a vacation.
“Winning a $500,000 prize feels like a miracle,” the player said.
Players have won more than $18 million playing Wild Time Supreme, which launched in June. Each $10 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $10 up to $500,000. More than $38 million in prizes remain, including two $500,000 top-prizes, 83 $10,000 prizes, and 157 $1,000 prizes.
Lottery instant games may be purchased at 10,500 retailers across the state.
In 2020, Lottery players won more than $1.5 billion playing instant games.
