The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday announced 6,773 new positive coronavirus test results and 50 new COVID-related deaths over the two-day period of Tuesday and Wednesday.
State officials also went through old death certificates and matched them to previous positive tests. They added 50 more deaths to the statewide total.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there were 305 new cases reported for the two days combined, with 62 of them in Marquette County and 47 more in Delta County. There were also 28 new cases in Menominee County, 25 in Dickinson County, and 23 new positive tests in Schoolcraft County.
There were new deaths reported in both Chippewa and Houghton Counties.
