The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday announced 7,674 new positive coronavirus test results and 45 new COVID-related deaths over the three-day period of Tuesday and Wednesday.
That’s roughly 38-hundred new cases per day.
State officials also went through old death certificates and matched them to previous positive tests. They added 47 more deaths to the statewide total.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there were 345 new positive test results, and seven new deaths were reported. There were two new deaths in both Dickinson and Chippewa Counties, and one each in Baraga, Iron and Mackinac Counties.
The most new cases were 75 in Marquette County. There were 33 new cases in Delta County, 30 in Menominee County, 24 in Schoolcraft County, and 20 new cases in Alger County.
