The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Monday announced 7,108 new positive coronavirus test results and 57 new COVID-related deaths over the two-day period of Tuesday and Wednesday.
That’s roughly 35-hundred new cases per day.
State officials also went through old death certificates and matched them to previous positive tests. They added 78 more deaths to the statewide total.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, three new deaths were reported in Chippewa County, two deaths in Marquette County, and one death in Baraga County.
There were 298 new positive test results over the two-day period, for an average of 149 per day.
Marquette County had the most new cases with 59. Delta County added 43 cases and Houghton County had 45. Menominee County had 30 new cases.
