The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday announced 7,867 new positive coronavirus test results and 76 new COVID-related deaths over the two-day period of Tuesday and Wednesday.
State officials also went through old death certificates and matched them to previous positive tests. They added 66 more deaths to the statewide total.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there were nine new COVID deaths reported: two each in Chippewa, Delta, Mackinac and Marquette Counties, and one new death in Dickinson County.
There were 323 new coronavirus cases reported over those two days in the U-P
The most was 82 new cases in Marquette County. There were 77 new cases in Houghton County, 31 in Delta County, and 24 in Dickinson County.
