Marquette’s mayor and mayor pro tem were easily re-elected during Tuesday’s city elections.
Mayor Jenna Smith got the most votes with 1,955. Mayor Pro Tem Jenn Hill also earned another term on the city commission with 1,741 votes. The only challenger on Tuesday’s ballot, Margaret Brumm, was unsuccessful in her bid finishing third with 924 votes.
The Marquette Board of Light and Power also held elections Tuesday with three people running for two seats. Current BLP Chairman John Prince received the most votes with 1,561. The second seat will go to Paul Schloegel with 1,501 votes. Schloegel recently served on the Marquette City Commission, appointed when Tom Baldini died in 2018.
John Braamse finished third in the BLP race with 1,192 votes and did not get elected.
