The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday announced 9,764 new positive coronavirus test results and 62 new COVID-related deaths over the two-day period of Tuesday and Wednesday.
State officials also went through old death certificates and matched them to previous positive tests. They added 75 more deaths to the statewide total.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there were five new deaths reported: two each in Delta and Dickinson Counties, and one in Houghton County.
There were 316 new positive cases over the two-day period. The most were in Marquette County, with 77 cases. Houghton County added 52 cases, Delta County had 37, and Dickinson County had 25 cases. Schoolcraft County had 15 new cases.
