The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Monday announced 8,911 new positive coronavirus test results and 26 new COVID-related deaths over the three-day period of Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
State officials also went through old death certificates and matched them to previous positive tests. They added 21 more deaths to the statewide total.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there were three new deaths reported: one each in Delta, Iron and Menominee Counties.
There were 284 new cases reported over the three-day period. Marquette County had the most with 52, and Houghton County had 50. Delta County registered 35 new cases and there were 26 in Menominee County. Schoolcraft County had 15, and Dickinson County had 11 new cases.
