The medical director of the Marquette County Health Department says there needs to be more community and personal responsibility when it comes to fighting COVID-19.
Doctor Bob Lorinser on Friday wrote a detailed letter to the community, in which he said that local health officials are concerned about the number of people who are NOT vaccinated, and are concerned about the lack of testing.
He says that the COVID rate is so high in Marquette right now that if you are with a group of 25 people, there is a 35=to-40-percent chance that someone in the group is contagious with COVID. And he says that the positivity rate in Marquette County is around 15-percent.
Lorinser says we all need to start wearing masks again, and resume social distancing practices from early in the pandemic. The full letter is posted below.
