The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Monday announced 13,999 new positive coronavirus test results and 97 new COVID-related deaths over the past three days.
State officials also checked old death certificates and matched them to previous positive COVID test results. They added 63 more deaths to the statewide total.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there were two new deaths reported: in Alger and Menominee Counties. The U.P. added 148 new cases in the three-day period, with 31 of them in Delta County, and 25 in Marquette County.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there are 60 people hospitalized with COVID-19, with 20 in ICU’s and eight on ventilators. There are 3,896 adults and 48 kids hospitalized with COVID around Michigan, with 959 in Intensive Care Units and 661 on breathing ventilators. These numbers are lower than last week.
