The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday announced 13,686 new positive coronavirus test results and 142 new COVID-related deaths over the past two days.
State officials also checked old death certificates and matched them to previous positive COVID test results. They added 250 more deaths to the statewide total.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there were six new deaths reported. Four of them were in Houghton County, with one each in Delta and Schoolcraft Counties. There were 222 new cases in the U.P. over the past two days, with 68 of them in Marquette County. Chippewa County had 29 and Dickinson County added 26.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there are 60 people hospitalized with COVID-19, with 25 in ICU’s and nine on ventilators.
There are 3,700 adults and 55 kids hospitalized with COVID around Michigan, with 909 in Intensive Care Units and 626 on breathing ventilators.
