The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Monday announced 32,957 new positive coronavirus test results and 116 new COVID-related deaths over the past five days.
This was the first report issued since last Wednesday due to the holiday.
State officials also checked old death certificates and matched them to previous positive COVID test results. They added 158 more deaths to the statewide total.
Here in the Upper Peninsula, there were four new COVID deaths reported over the past five days: one each in Baraga, Houghton, Marquette and Ontonagon Counties.
The U.P. added 354 new cases, with the most coming in Marquette County with 88 new positive tests. Delta County had 54 new cases. Chippewa County added 35, Houghton County 33 and Dickinson County added 29 cases.
