The National Weather Service is giving us a look at some of the storm total snowfall reports of one foot or greater over the past two days through early this morning.
The highlands of Marquette, Baraga and Gogebic counties observed the highest snowfall amounts during this event. We’ve also just had a report of around 26″ inches in Palmer so far.
Lake effect snow showers will persist through today and remain focused over the northeast wind lake effect snow-belts. The lake effect snow bands will transition more northerly overnight into Friday morning.
Another few inches of snow can be expected and a Winter Weather Advisory is is effect for Marquette and Baraga Counties, as well as for the western U.P. counties, through Friday morning.
