Special Message from the Negaunee City Manager:
Greetings,
I hope that all of you have enjoyed Pioneer Days and are having a wonderful summer.
The purpose of this post is to address false rumors that the Negaunee Senior Center is closing and to encourage those spreading them to please stop. The Senior Center is not closing, nor have there been any discussions within the City of Negaunee about closing the facility or eliminating services.
Since 1974, Negaunee Senior Center has provided Negaunee and township seniors access to in-home homemaker aides, household chore assistance, case coordination, free legal clinics, foot care, blood pressure screenings, meals, financial management, and social activities such as trips, aerobics, and crafts.
The false rumors about the Senior Center closing not only harm the reputation of the Center but cause unnecessary stress to community members relying on services.
Please join us in protecting the good reputation of our Senior Center, its employees, and volunteers, and take a moment to set the record straight if you hear the false rumors about its closing. Perhaps even consider volunteering at the Center if you can, as even a small contribution of time can make a big impact.
We hope this information relieves any concerns regarding the false rumors, and we wish you all a terrific, safe, and relaxing summer.
Nate Heffron
City Manager
