The Michigan Department of Transportation is spending about $837,000 to repair the US-41 bridge over the Little Carp River, Baraga County.
Work includes wingwall stabilization with soil nails, concrete facing and slope stabilization using riprap. Work on the project is scheduled to start on Tuesday, and is estimated to end by November 28th.
Drivers should expect one lane of alternating traffic with temporary traffic signals.
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support seven jobs.
This work will extend the lifespan of the structure and increase safety for motorists.
