The 27th annual OSF HealthCare Foundation “Heart of Gold” dinner was recently held on Thursday, October 22, at the Island Resort & Casino Convention Center. Proceeds from the event benefit OSF HealthCare Foundation and areas of greatest need.
In past years, this has supported the purchase of new medical equipment, renovations, and the opening of the Daniel J. Kobasic Cancer Clinic in 2024.
This year’s proceeds will raise critical support for enhanced radiation therapy services, helping ensure that individuals facing cancer have access to advanced treatment and compassionate care in Delta County.
The event featured a seven-course dinner prepared and presented by volunteer chefs from across the Upper Peninsula – all members of the Upper Michigan Chapter of the American Culinary Federation.
It was also staffed by employees of OSF HealthCare, Peninsula Federal Credit Union, and other community members donating their time to the cause.
“The dinner is a culinary experience unlike any other in our community,” said Jean Arvan, Director of Philanthropy at OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group. “To date the proceeds from this event total over $500,000 and have been directed in different ways to provide for the health and wellness of our patients. We are very grateful for those who were able to share this evening with us and for those who sponsored and volunteered at this event”.
