CLICK TO LISTEN TO JACK HALL’S INTERVIEW WITH PAUL WALKER, MANISTIQUE VFW
The Forgotten Eagles will visit Manistique this Thursday night at the Schoolcraft County Veterans Memorial and the Schoolcraft County Courthouse. The Forgotten Eagles hold this annual event called the RAM (Ride Around Michigan) to raise money for the Michigan Veterans, most specifically the Michigan Veterans Fund, and for the Jacabetti Home in Marquette. The ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Also, the Vietnam Moving Memorial Wall will visit Manistique from August 10th to the 14th. It comes to Manistique once every five years.
Paul Walker, the commander for the VFW Post 4420 in Manistique, tells RRN News that veterans face many challenges, from losing Vietnam Vets to agent orange, exposure to toxic burn pits, and many other factors such as homelessness, mental health, and getting them the benefits they rightly earned. Walker also asks people to recall the disrespectful way veterans were treated when they returned from Vietnam 50 years ago, and to help right that wrong by supporting them now.
