M-35 is closed south of Escanaba due to a non-traffic crash incident that’s being handled by several police agencies. Traffic is being detoured and no word on for how long. More details as they become available. Uncomfirmed reports indicate there is a man barricaded in his home in that area, and more police units are on the way to the scene.
This is from MSP Public Information officer Lt. Ben Eckola:
“There is an increased police presence in the area of M-35 near Ford River. The Michigan State Police is assisting the Delta County Sheriff’s Office. M-35 traffic is temporarily being re-routed. Affected areas are NB and SB M-35 between County Road 521 and US-2 (Ludington St).”
