The Community Foundation of Marquette County (CFMC) will host its 2023 Annual Celebration on Wednesday, September 6. This event is a celebration of community reflecting on 35 years of impact across the region, including the opportunity to recognize community members and organizations that make a significant difference in Marquette County. It will be held at the Northern Michigan University, Northern Center Grand Ballrooms, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm
‘Our Annual Celebration is an opportunity for our staff and board of trustees to say thank you to the Marquette County Community,” says Community Foundation CEO Zosia Eppensteiner. “The years go by so quickly, and yet, when we see the impact over 35 years through the generosity of our donors, we realize the power of working together to make an even bigger impact. This special evening is one way that we can express our gratitude to the donors, businesses and funders who invest in our community. So many individuals and organizations work tirelessly to make a real difference to the lives of people and organizations in need across Marquette County, including Big Bay, Gwinn, Ishpeming, Marquette, and Negaunee.”’
The Community Foundation’s 2023 Catalyst Award Honorees will be announced at the event. The Catalyst Award recognizes the efforts of people who give back to the community through volunteerism or philanthropy while inspiring others to do the same. Five awards will be presented at this year’s event. Mark Canale, a Community Foundation trustee, is chair of this year’s Annual Celebration.
