Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is pleased to announce the completion of a new commercial use point of entry at Miners Beach.
The park will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, August 3rd at 9:00 a.m. to unveil the new unloading and beach access area for the authorized commercial use kayak companies. The ceremony will take place at the new location at Miners Beach and will include remarks from park Superintendent David Horne.
“We are thrilled about the completion of this important project, and I couldn’t be more proud of our crew for their hard work” said Superintendent David Horne. “This improvement means that visitors and commercial use operations will no longer be mixed together, which will greatly improve the visitor experience at the beach.”
Once opened, this new area at Miners Beach will be designated for commercial use. The area is also located away from the main east and west points of entry to the beach, which will alleviate congestion experienced by both beachgoers and commercial groups that launch from Miners Beach. The main east and west points of entry will be designated solely for visitors and beachgoers.
Miners Beach is located approximately 10 miles east of Munising and receives many visitors every summer. More information on the park and updates on Miners Beach are available on the park’s website.
