Marinette County Public Health received notice today that Marinette County has its second confirmed case of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. Public Health is initiating the process to identify and contact anyone who has been in close contact with the individual. There are standard procedures for this process.
• These people are asked to quarantine themselves for 14 days from their exposure and will be monitored for fever and respiratory symptoms. People with symptoms are tested for COVID-19.
• Providing guidance to clinicians regarding testing.
• Preparing Wisconsin for community spread of COVID-19
With no medicine or vaccines to treat or prevent COVID-19, Marinette County Public Health wants everyone to continue follow these simple steps:
• Stay home when sick
• Frequent handwashing with soap and water for 20 seconds
• Cover coughs and sneezes
• Avoid touching your face
• Clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces
• Practice social distancing-6 feet from others
• Avoid public gatherings of more than 10 persons
