A report of someone being shot phoned into Escanaba Public Safety on Thursday turned out be a false alarm. Multiple agencies responded after the call came in about 11:00 am, but everyone mentioned by the caller was okay. The call sparked a brief lockdown in the Escanaba schools as well.
The source of the prank call is under investigation.
