Deo Gallery’s May exhibit features over one hundred local student artists from Marquette Senior High School (Instructor Jake Fether), Negaunee High School (Instructor Kimberly Schefchik), Ishpeming High School (Instructor Alexandra Trotter), and Gwinn High School (Instructor Meghan Soucy).
This exhibit showcases a variety of art styles and mediums, including ceramics, acrylics, portraits, pencil drawings, and watercolor.
The exhibit is installed and curated by students participating in the Artists in Excellence cross-district program.
Awards provided by local arts organizations and student groups will be presented at the opening reception to be held Thursday, May 9 from 6-8 p.m. The reception is open to the public and free to attend. The exhibit will be on display through May 29.
The Deo Gallery is located in the lower level of the Peter White Public Library in the City’s Arts & Culture Center; it is supported by the Lake Superior Art Association.
