The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $2.7 million to resurface 13.8 miles of US-45 from northwest of the M-26 junction to Greenland Road in the village of Ontonagon, Ontonagon County. Work includes asphalt cold milling and resurfacing, concrete sidewalk ramps, drainage structure repairs, and pavement markings. The project includes a three-year pavement warranty. The project starts on Thursday and will be done sometime in late September.
Motorists should expect intermittent single-lane closures using traffic regulators throughout the project.
This work will extend the lifespan of the roadway and result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety for motorists.
