The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin bridge maintenance work on Monday, Aug. 1, requiring lane closures on three bridges over the Manistique and Indian rivers.
The work will require lane closures of the M-94 bridges over the Manistique and Indian rivers and the US-2 bridge over the Manistique River. One alternating lane of traffic will be open on the M-94 bridges using temporary traffic signals. One lane in each direction will be open on the US-2 bridge using traffic shifts.
A lane width restriction of 12 feet will be in place on the M-94 Indian River and US-2 Manistique River bridges. A lane width restriction of 14 feet will be in place on the M-94 Manistique River bridge.
Work is expected to be completed by Thursday, Aug. 4. The work is weather dependent, and the schedule is subject to change.
MDOT advises motorists to remain alert for workers and use caution when traveling through the work zones.
