NOTICE: Escanaba residents living in the areas of the:
– 1800-1900 Blocks of 5th Avenue North
– 400-600 Blocks of North 18th Street
– 433 Stephenson Avenue
– 401 Stephenson Avenue
Please be advised of a boil water advisory. All affected residents will be receiving a door hanger regarding said boil advisory for Thursday, January 26th, until further notified.
You will experience interruption of service/loss of water service today for a period of time.
Due to the possibility of unsafe water, you are directed to start BOILING ALL DRINKNG WATER taken from the public water system as per notification given above. This includes water for drinking, making ice cubes, washing foods, brushing teeth, or any other activity involving consumption of water. It is advised to boil water per these instructions: Bring tap water to a solid boil, once the water is steadily boiling, continue to boil for five full minutes, allow to cool and store in a container. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking until further notice.
Once work is complete, mains will be flushed, water tested for bacteriological analysis, and each affected resident will be notified once safe to drink. Once service is restored, if water still remains discolored after 20-30 minutes, please contact the Water Department.
Also starting Thursday, January 26th, the 1800-1900 blocks of 5th Avenue North will beclosed until work is completed. The surrounding areas will be affected:
– 400-600 blocks of North 18th Street
– 433 Stephenson Avenue (Restonic Bedding)
– 401 Stephenson Avenue (Decker-Koepp)
This closure is due to a main break.
There will be no disruption of water. If circumstances change and a disruption of water occurs, affected residents will receive a door hanger. Please expect some delays and slow down near this work.
