The City of Escanaba Recreation Department is happy to announce a grant award from the Community Foundation for Delta County in a partnership to provide youth in the community with “Spring Break Survival Kits”.
Kits will contain a variety of snacks, refreshments, hygiene items and school supplies. They will be distributed to youth registered with the After School Program.
The Catherine Bonifas Civic Center’s After School Program provides a safe, supervised environment. The facility has a full game room and gym and hosts activities such as basketball, board games, free books, wi-fi, laptop use and volleyball.
Recreation Director Kim Peterson stated, “There is a need within the community to provide extra help to families during Spring Break. We all see that grocery prices continue to rise, along with almost everything you purchase. This partnership allows us to go above and beyond to give something extra back and we are happy to do so.”
