Steven David Litchard, 33, of Escanaba was sentenced to 12 months in the Delta County Jail following the entry of a plea to Possession of Methamphetamine (punishable by up to 10 years in prison) and Organized Retail Fraud (punishable by up to 5 years in prison).
On January 19, 2021, officers from Escanaba Department of Public Safety responded to a noise complaint at an apartment in the city of Escanaba. Officers located Jordan Schenck and Steven Litchard at the residence. Litchard consented to a search of his person, and officers located a small baggie with a crystal substance inside. This substance later tested positive for methamphetamine.
In the course of their investigation, officers determined that Litchard and Schenck were conducting a retail fraud enterprise, where as they would steal a large amount of items from retail establishments and resell the items. It was determined the pair also took specific orders of items to steal from stores.
Co-Defendant Jordan Schenck was sentenced to multiple felony charges on February 14, 2022, to 23 months to 5 years in prison.
