There is another uptick in new coronavirus cases across Michigan.
The state Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday reported 18,945 new coronavirus cases (probable and confirmed combined) for the past week, which averages to 2,706 cases per day.
This week’s case count is an increase over last week, when 14,482 new cases were reported, for an average of 2,069 cases per day.
State health officials reported 62 new confirmed or probable deaths this week, compared with 67 last week.
It’s the third straight week of increases in case counts. The state began counting probable and confirmed cases together, rather than separately, last month.
