The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $4.3 million to resurface 7.5 miles of US-41/M-28 from east of the M-28/US-141 intersection to the east end of the passing lane section near the Tioga Roadside Park in Covington Township, Baraga County.
The project includes asphalt resurfacing, crushing and shaping of shoulders, drainage improvements, guardrail, new signs, and pavement markings.
This project will start on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, and is estimated to wrap up by Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022
Motorists should expect intermittent single-lane closures using traffic regulators throughout the project.
This work will extennd the lifespan of the roadway and result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety for motorists.
