They’re turning back the hands of time in Escanaba this weekend, as the Krusin Klassics car club puts on its annual Fun Run car show.
It’s the 36th year for the event, which draws people from across the Midwest. The parade starts at 7 Friday night on Ludington Street in downtown Escanaba. That will be followed by the dance from 8:00 until midnight at the UP State Fairgrounds.
The car show itself is from 8:00 till 4:30 Saturday, with the awards ceremony at 4:30 in the grandstand area of the fairgrounds. Buttons cost only five dollars, and that’s good for both Friday night and Saturday. The parade, of course, is free.
The Raffle Car is a white, four-door, hard-topped. 1957 Chevrolet Bellair.
They’ll also be giving away a red, 1992 Corvette, but that will be given to a show participant. You cannot buy tickets to try to win that car, but you can try to win the ’57 Chevy.
The money raised from the entry buttons and raffle tickets this weekend is ultimately donated to local charities, scholarships, and is used to sponsor youth sports teams.
