The Michigan Department of Transportation will spend $1 million to resurface 2.2 miles of M-26 from 21st Street to the village limit of Lake Linden in Houghton County. Work includes sealing, asphalt milling and resurfacing, concrete sidewalk ramps, and pavement markings.
The project is scheduled to start on Tuesday, after the holiday, and run through late August.
Motorists should expect intermittent single-lane closures utilizing traffic regulators during the project.
This work will extend the lifespan of the roadway and result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety for motorists.
